Getting Things Done

Turns workflows, data, causes, and improvements into a tangible result by collecting inputs, clarifying next actions, and selecting the next action.

Purpose

The method helps clarify workflow, data, causes, and improvements concretely. It identifies patterns, causes, bottlenecks, or constraints and turns them into actions. The result is captured as Action Lists, Project List, and a Review Routine.

How it works

The team follows the steps: collect inputs, clarify next actions, organize lists and contexts, review weekly, and select the next action. Each step is captured visibly. At the end, Action Lists, a Project List, and a Review Routine are available so decisions, tests, or actions can follow directly.

Deep dive

In detail

Getting Things Done follows a clear working logic: collect inputs, clarify next actions, organize lists and contexts, review weekly, and select the next action. This turns the method into a visible thinking process rather than only a conversation. The participants move step by step from raw material, observations, or options toward a shared structure. As a result, Action Lists, a Project List, and a Review Routine support decisions, learning, or further planning.

Facilitation

Prepare a clear guiding question, the right information, and a visible workspace. Plan for 1-2 h setup, work continuously alone, and use the format asynchronously. The facilitation is lightweight but needs structure; short timeboxes, visible intermediate results, and a parking lot for open questions help.
